Forbidden Love

Some women are untouchable. Like a stepsister who's alive because of your sacrifice.

Snare is part of the Road Kill MC, and as sergeant-at-arms, he takes his role as protector seriously.

He always has.

Snare doesn't discuss the scar that almost took his eye, or the ultimate protection it provided for the only woman he's ever loved.

The sweet butts provide the distraction he needs, and the emotional disconnect he craves.

Snare is married to the club. He doesn't need a woman who disappears without a trace.

Guilt

Sarah tries not to think of Snare. It was one night. And he paid for it—they both did.

The nightmares don't even interrupt her dreams. Much.

Except for the secret she keeps of the child they had together? Life couldn't be more perfect.

Sarah knows that Snare isn't the type of man to toy with—or lie to. But when her abuser took things too far, Sarah couldn't allow Snare to protect her any longer, she fled and hasn't seen her stepbrother since.

The price for their love was more than fists and rage.
But flesh and blood.
Can Sarah hide the truth from the one man who protected her with his own life? Will Snare deny his true feelings because of scars that run more than skin deep?

{ review } .

I enjoyed Noose and Rose's stories (and really loved seeing them more in this book, as well as Snare egging Noose on about Rose), but I wasn't prepared for how much I would love Snare. Falling for his step-sister and banging her in the closet as teens probably wasn't the smartest idea, but that 'familial taboo' aside, these two and their relationship was extremely solid.

Snare was always Sara's protector. His father, Riker, was a crappy man and when Riker married Sara's mom, it was with other intentions. Immediately, Snare became Riker's punching bag -- he was already for his half-siblings, but was more than willing to step up where Sara was concerned.

Sara, though, shows her strength as a teen and does her own protecting of Snare...

It's been five years since Snare has seen her, and he uses the club's resources to locate her -- even with the side chuckles and the comments (and again, his protection and possessiveness come out in spades where his brothers are concerned). He states again and again he doesn't need her, but Sara haunts him in more than one way.

I loved Snare's personality where Sara was concerned. I loved watching his voice change from the beginning of the book, to the meat of the book -- you could hear in the writing how his lifestyle had changed. There was certainly growing up and gruffness in his tone as an MC member.

Sara's character wasn't weak, she wasn't weepy... she was strong when needed, fearful when needed... She was a well-rounded character that I very much enjoyed.

The suspense line in this particular book was well-placed, well-written, and well-thought out. I didn't find any of it to be corny, or ill-placed. It fit well with what was going on in Snare and Sara's lives, and it didn't deter from the rest of their story.

Again, I loved Noose and Rose, but I really loved Snare and Sara. If you are a fan of step-sibling romances, or are simply able to look past it, this is a great story to get lost in.
