After his betrayal, he tried to earn his redemption, but it wasn’t enough. Now his whole world has fallen apart and he’s on the run from those who want him dead. But he’s not alone.

Undercover agent, Brooklyn Avery, has been assigned to Camden’s case, to watch and protect him. For months, she’s been in the shadows, keeping her distance. All of that changes when the mission takes a dangerous turn and she needs to get closer to protect him. Their love is forbidden, but once they see past each other’s scars, they realize they have what it takes to heal the other. Unfortunately, Camden still has a price to pay for his sins.
Lives will be lost, some will be damaged, and a dark, hidden secret will be revealed. In the end, Camden finally learns what it means to put everything on the line for love, even if it costs him.

{ excerpt } .

Pressing his forehead to mine, he closed his eyes and squeezed them tight. “How can you love me?” he asked, his voice gruff. “I do fucked up things that hurt the people closest to me. I can’t promise you that’ll change.”

“No, but you can promise me you’ll try. That’s good enough for me.”

His heated gaze landed on mine, his breaths deep and raspy. The raw energy radiating from him made me tremble in anticipation.

“You just fucked up, buttercup,” he growled low. Lifting me in his arms, he carried me off the dock and laid me down on the grass, his body hard on top of mine.

“Why is that?” I whispered. He pushed his cock against me and I moaned, desperately aching to feel him inside me.

“You have awakened something I never knew existed. It rips at my soul and scares the fuck out of me, yet it also makes me feel alive. I don’t want to let it go. I don’t want to let you go.” Lowering his head, he kissed my cheek and trailed his lips down to my neck.

“What are you saying?” I asked.

He brushed his thumb across my lips and lifted his head. “I don’t know if what I feel is love. I’ve never had it before. But goddamn, it sure does feel like it. Whatever happens between us, I can’t let it end. Tell me you don’t want it to.”

I moaned as he lifted my tank top and bra and tossed them to the ground. “I want us to be together, Camden. We don’t know what’s going to happen once everything’s over, but I can promise you my love will not change... even when you go back home.”

My favorite characters have been Ryley and Ashleigh since the first moment I had the opportunity to read this series.

But here's the thing -- while they were my favorite couple, I wasn't 100% there while reading RYLEY'S REVENGE.

I was closer to paying full attention when reading PAXTON'S PROMISE -- I liked Pax and Gabby's story, and loved their relationship, but again, the honors went completely to Ryley and Ashleigh.

Well, move over, Ryley, your brother put up a strong fight.

I was 200% in CAMDEN'S REDEMPTION -- I read at stoplights, while waiting to check out at the grocery store, 5 minutes before and 10 minutes after grocery shopping before begrudgingly putting down the book so I could continue on to my next destination.

Everything, and I do mean everything, about this book did it for me.

Maybe it's because I like those dark-souled men (example: EMBER) and the women who see the light in them. Whatever it is, I was completely hooked in this book.

When I knew that Camden was finally getting his happily-ever-after, I was ecstatic, and CAMDEN'S REDEMPTION certainly lived up to my expectations, if not over-achieved them.

Camden has made mistakes in his life. He's always seen himself as the 'bad twin' -- he's darker than Ryley, meaner than Ryley, all of which he proves in an underground illegal fight (in RYLEY'S REVENGE). He goes into hiding, only coming out once when he hears Ryley and Ashleigh have twins. When nearly confronted by Ryley, Camden runs.

Family friend, Mason, puts Camden in hiding due to someone putting a decent price on the man's head. However, to further keep him out of trouble, Mason puts another friend, undercover cop Brooklyn, on his case. Brooklyn manages to keep an eye on Camden from afar, until Mason moves Camden yet again and now to Brooklyn's home town -- where she needs to confront her own demons.

When they finally 'meet', it's under false pretenses -- he as Cameron and she as a nanny who's been away for the past few months (and oh, when he figures out he was the one she was 'nannying'... I got a kick out of his expression!). Like all stories of deception, it all eventually comes out (thank goodness it's not too far into the story, because we all know how I feel about those deception stories).
Camden looked back once and then glanced down at me, his jaw tense. “Let me guess . . . you dated him.”
“No,”I blurted out. “What makes you say that?”
He shrugged, his voice dark. “I don’t know. The way you two talked to each other was different. He was flirting with you.”
His anger gave me pause. Taking his hand, I pulled him to a stop. “Hey,” I murmured, “look at me.”
When he wouldn’t turn, I stood in his line of sight and made him. “Why are you mad? He wasn’t flirting. That’s just the way Luke is. He’s like that with everyone.”The rain falling across his skin was beautiful, but the way he stared at me made me shiver.
He sighed and looked down at the ground, shrugging his shoulders. “I guess I just don’t know what you see in me. You could have any man you want, but yet you choose to be with someone who doesn’t deserve you. I’m a monster, Brooklyn.”Pulling away from me, he angrily swiped the rain off his face. “You don’t even know the real me.”
Turning on his heel, he stormed through the woods with me on his tail. The mud was thick, but I trudged through it, trying my best to keep up. Camden needed help, but I couldn’t give it to him with lies. Mason was going to kill me if I told him the truth.
“Then tell me,”I shouted. “Tell me who you are.”
“You couldn’t handle it,”he snapped.
That was the last thing he needed to say to me. There was nothing I couldn’t handle. “You don’t think I can handle it?”I snarled. “Which part? The part where you fucked over your brother and his wife? What about what you did at the Dark Side? I know everything about you, Camden.”
Does he get hotheaded, pissed off, and stomp off? Sure does... But it's because his insecurities come to surface. Surely, then, she hasn't been around him, loving him, for real.

And while I like to watch the deceiver suffer a bit, I was actually quite glad that this fight didn't last that long. I'm glad that Camden has grown in the past months and is learning to trust.

I loved who Camden was with Brooklyn. I love that she introduces herself as Brooklyn, but says that everyone either calls Brooke or B, yet he always calls her or thinks of her as Brooklyn, and gives her a nickname/endearment she's never had -- buttercup. Even someone as tough and hard as Brooklyn loves that little nickname. I loved that Brooklyn has dark parts to her, too, and Camden accepts them and tries to help her get over her demons.

I also loved that he wasn't hotheaded possessive over her... but he still wanted to stamp her with 'mine'.
With wild eyes, I thrust my finger toward the door where Brooklyn waited outside. "And have you seen what she's wearing? That guy's going to be all over her tonight. What the fuck am I supposed to do? Sit around and let him mess around with what's mine?"
Something about those wild eyes just gets to me...

We also get to see Ryley and Ashleigh get married :) Be still my heart...

...and of course, I cried... The epilogue? I. Just. Loved...

Oh! And want to know what makes me the most sad about this fabulous series?

...at the end, it states to be on the look out for Kyle's book.....the last in the series. Oh the heartbreak. Surely LP will want to revisit these lovely fighters once or twice again... right? Right?!

HOLD THE PHONE! On my perusal of Amazon for links, I found Mason and Matt's stories! My goodness, gracious... I was unaware that this was a spinoff series. Where have I been?!
